Iðan administers journeyman's examinations in numerous trades. Journeyman's examinations are held at least once a year in each trade, provided there is sufficient participation. Iðan strives to provide equal opportunities for learning.

Validation of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a way to assess the skills and knowledge that can be acquired in the labour market. The assessment can potentially shorten studies and serve as an incentive to complete them.
