Journeyman's Examination in Building and Construction Trades

Please note that applications for the journeyman's examination will not be accepted after the application deadline has passed. If you encounter problems with registration, you can send an email to [email protected] to register. The email must include the trade, the name and national ID number of the examinee, and an email address. It must also include the national ID number, name, and email address of the master craftsman and the company.

When can I apply for a journeyman's examination?

  • You must have completed an electronic logbook or provide a confirmation from your school that you will complete it during the current semester.
  • You must have graduated from school or be in your final semester of vocational training and graduate before taking the journeyman's examination.

What documents do I need to submit with my application for a journeyman's examination?

According to the regulation on journeyman's examinations, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

Are you not using an electronic logbook but are on an apprenticeship contract under the old system?

  • Then you need to send a pension fund statement with your application to confirm your working hours.

When the application deadline has passed, the applicant will receive a letter with information about the examination location, date, and any applicable permit and material fees.

An examinee who requests special accommodations for the journeyman's examination needs to contact IÐAN's study and career counsellor.

Journeyman's Examination in Plumbing

The journeyman's examination in plumbing will be held at IÐAN Education Centre, starting in mid-August and lasting for two weeks. Several groups are expected for the practical exam; each group will spend three days on the practical part of the exam. More detailed dates will be published as soon as they are available. The application deadline was 15 June.
