When can I apply for a journeyman's examination?

You must have completed your digital logbook
You must have graduated from school or be in your final semester of vocational training and graduate before taking the journeyman's examination.

What documents do I need to submit with my application for a journeyman's examination?

According to the regulation on journeyman's examinations, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

Confirmation that the digital logbook is complete.
A graduation certificate from the school with grades or confirmation that you will graduate during the current semester and before taking the journeyman's examination.

Are you not using a digital logbook but have an apprenticeship contract under the old system?

Then you need to send a pension fund statement with your application to confirm your working hours.

When the application deadline has passed, the applicant will receive a letter with information about the examination location, date, and licence and material fees where applicable.

An examinee who requests special accommodations for the journeyman's examination must contact an IÐAN study and career counsellor.

The Journeyman's Examination in Graphic Communication will be held on 28th-29th September 2026, the written exam will be on 24th September 2026. The application deadline is 15th of August 2026.
