Journeyman's Examination in Culinary Trades

Please note that applications for journeyman's examinations are not accepted after the application deadline has passed. If problems arise during registration, you can send an email to [email protected] to register. The email must include the trade, the name and national ID number of the examinee, and an email address. It must also include the national ID number, name, and email address of the master craftsman and the company.

When can I apply for a journeyman's examination?

• You must have completed your digital logbook or be completing it during the current semester.
• You must have graduated from school or be in your final semester of vocational training and graduate before taking the journeyman's examination.

What documents do I need to submit with my application for a journeyman's examination?

According to the regulation on journeyman's examinations, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

• Confirmation that your digital logbook is complete or will be completed before taking the journeyman's examination.
• A graduation certificate from the school with grades or confirmation that you will graduate during the current semester and before taking the journeyman's examination.
• Confirmation from a master craftsman on the application for a journeyman's examination

Are you not using a digital logbook but have an apprenticeship contract under the old system?

• Then you need to send a pension fund statement with your application to confirm your working hours.

Once the application deadline has passed, the applicant will receive a letter with information about the examination location, date, and any applicable permit and material fees.

An examinee who requests special accommodations for the journeyman's examination needs to contact Iðan´s study and career counsellor.

Journeyman's Examination in Pastry Making/Confectionery

Journeyman's examinations in pastry making are held in Denmark and are administered by the Danish education authorities.

Please note that the prerequisite for taking the journeyman's examination in pastry making in Denmark is to have completed both the school-based and workplace-based training in the trade at a recognised pastry company in Denmark. See more here.
