13 completed their journeyman's examinations in carpentry and 6 in mechanics.
Journeyman's certificates in carpentry and mechanics were awarded at a formal ceremony at Hotel Hildebrand in Neskaupstaður.
This is the first time that journeyman's certificates have been awarded in East Iceland, as a large group took the journeyman's examination in the east this summer.
Interestingly, a mother and her sons were awarded journeyman's certificates in carpentry: Barbara Valerie Kresfelder, Kári Kresfelder Haraldsson, and Týr Kresfelder Haraldsson.
Hulda Birna Kjærnested Baldursdóttir and Marino Stefánsson presented the journeyman's certificates on behalf of Iðan. Marino was the master examiner for the journeyman's examinations, and Hulda Birna is the vice-chair of the board of Iðan and the project manager for education and human resources at the Federation of Icelandic Industries.
