Internationally Certified Electric Car Course

Internationally Certified Electric Car Course

“The process began when we purchased an electric vehicle simulator with detailed instructional modules,” says Sigurður Svavar Indriðason, Head of the Automotive Division at IÐAN.

An electric car simulator is a major investment, but it contains a lot of high-quality educational material. The arrival of this device brought IÐAN's teaching to a new dimension and enabled us to perform measurements and troubleshoot safely. Today, we can ensure student safety much better than if we were teaching on an actual electric car.

It is an undeniable advantage that the simulator's manufacturers develop all the course material in collaboration with the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry), which has over 100 years of experience in certifications and continuing education in the automotive industry. "Our main focus is on our people in the automotive sector," says Sigurður, "but this benefits others as well."

The courses are tiered and intended for salespeople, car rental employees, and those who handle electric cars. They are also for first responders such as the police, fire department, and even search and rescue teams. "As we move up the tiers, the specialization increases as we are working in the high-voltage system," says Sigurður, adding that this is exclusively for professionals in the automotive industry.
