BL regularly uses Iðan's facilities to hold courses for salespeople, frontline staff, and technicians. The collaboration underscores the importance of Iðan for the automotive industry in Iceland – where professionalism, knowledge, and continuing education go hand in hand.
There was a lot of life and energy at Iðan's premises last week when BL held a course for salespeople, frontline staff, and technicians for the premiere of a new Hyundai car that was introduced last weekend. The goal was to give staff the opportunity to get to know the car's new features, technology, and service solutions before it meets customers.
BL has been a regular guest at Iðan – almost every two weeks or at least monthly – where the company uses the facilities for courses and training. Professionals from all levels of the company come together there: salespeople, service representatives, and technicians.
A representative from BL says that it's very important to get employees out of their traditional work environment:
“This encourages people to get into a learning mode. Here at Iðan, it's quiet, no phones, no interruptions – just learning. It helps people to concentrate and realise the importance of being well-prepared,” he says.
Participants agree, saying that it's crucial to get a break from daily distractions to absorb new knowledge. “People grasp the seriousness and importance of what they are learning,” says one participant.
Sigurður Svavar Indriðason, head of automotive studies at Iðan, points out that this arrangement yields measurable benefits for companies:
“It makes a difference to go to another location for training. This way, people achieve better focus and greater results. We see this time and time again.”
According to Sigurður, this collaborative platform is important for both parties. By offering car dealerships the use of its facilities, Iðan closely monitors developments in the automotive sector, new technology, and the needs of the market.
“This is a mutual learning process. We see the changes in real-time and can pass the knowledge on in our own education. This also creates valuable connections with the market,” says Siggi.
It is therefore not without reason that Iðan has become an important supporter of the automotive industry in Iceland – where professionalism, knowledge, and collaboration go hand in hand.
