Various opportunities to participate in educational projects abroad
The European Union's education programme runs in seven-year cycles, and a new programme has now taken over, which will be in effect until 2027. "It builds on previous programmes, but of course, it's always evolving and has a natural progression," says Margrét.
However, there are always new priorities, and these are, for example, environmentally focused. There is also an emphasis on everyone having equal rights to utilise the grants. Thus, a companion will, for instance, be a realistic option for those who need one. Emphasis is also placed on digital solutions and sustainability.
Among the innovations in the vocational education section is also the possibility of collaborating with more countries outside of Europe, which has not been available before. Many apprentices, for example, have gone on student exchanges through IÐAN and completed part of their vocational training abroad. This gives them valuable insight into the culture and work methods of other countries.
