The Finnish Way in Espoo
Execution and implementation of competition events at the Finnish National Skills Competition.
Representatives from the metal and mechanical engineering and automotive departments at Iðan Education Centre attended the Finnish Skills Competition, Taitaja 2023, in Espoo at the beginning of May.
The educational trip was funded by Erasmus+ and its purpose was to strengthen knowledge in these fields in support of competitors, national competition projects, and the involvement of schools and educational institutions.
The competition covered 50 different skills over three days, ranging from logistics to forestry to the tourism industry. The leaders focused specifically on their respective fields and spoke with judges, coaches, and other competition stakeholders about the execution and design of the competition events.
Omnia, a vocational and technical college, was the partner school for this year's competition, and the skills leaders also visited the school to learn about the organisation of studies and the structure of the Finnish education system in vocational, technical, and trade subjects.
