Áttin makes it easier for companies to apply for reimbursements from vocational training funds
Lísbet Einarsdóttir, the managing director of Starfsafl, appeared on IÐA's podcast, Augnablik í iðnaði (A Moment in Industry), to discuss Áttin. There, we went over the application process and the path that the vocational training funds take to best support educational activities in companies.
Áttin is a web portal for educational grants and a collaborative project of the vocational training funds of IÐA, Starfsafl, Landsmennt, Rafmennt, the Vocational Training Fund for Commercial and Office Workers, the Federation of Managerial Staff, and the Vocational Training Fund for the Retail Sector. With a single application, it is possible to apply to all the funds simultaneously and thus receive reimbursement for members belonging to them. This gives companies a good overview of the status of their applications.
Áttin also offers an education manager on loan, a service that many companies have utilized, says Lísbet. She adds that a consultant from the funds then comes into the company to analyse the educational needs with managers and staff. The outcome is a clear educational plan that is jointly owned by everyone in the company.
