Each year, the Education and Training Service Centre (Nemastofa atvinnulífsins) gives special recognition to industrial companies and master craftsmen who have achieved good results in training and teaching apprentices in the workplace for their contribution to vocational education in the country.
Vocational education supported by robust workplace learning promotes increased productivity, innovation, and competitiveness in the Icelandic labor market. Workplace learning is key to developing skills in vocational education and connects apprentices with the real labor market, enhancing their knowledge and professional awareness, as well as strengthening the ties between industry and schools.
