Landscape architect Björn Jóhannsson has joined us for this week's podcast, where the topic is garden design and much more.
Landscape architect Björn Jóhannsson has been assisting garden owners with the design of their gardens since he returned from studying landscape architecture in England in 1993. He has also designed gardens for summer houses, institutions, companies, and apartment buildings, and this work has generated a wide variety of ideas.
Björn makes extensive use of information technology in his work and has long designed everything in a 3D environment. This method has the advantage, for example, that today his clients can tour the first drafts of their own garden in virtual reality and get a feel for what suits them and what needs to be improved. Björn designs and draws gardens with the help of Sketchup software, which is both powerful and exceptionally accessible. It should be noted that IÐAN Education Centre regularly offers courses in the use of Sketchup in collaboration with Björn.
