Making immigrants' skills visible

Making immigrants' skills visible

The European project VISKA (Visible Skills of Adults) is nearing its end, and its final conference will be held here in Iceland on 4 February 2020.

The pilot phase of the project has gone well in Iceland, with 50 immigrants participating in a validation of prior learning at IÐAN Education Centre and the Centre for Lifelong Learning in Suðurnes. The project has contributed to the visibility and certification of immigrants' skills. It is clear that closer attention needs to be paid to immigrants' access to validation of prior learning, counselling, and the education system. More information can be found on the project's website: www.viskaproject.eu.

The project's final conference will be held on 4 February, from 13:00 to 15:30, at the premises of IÐAN Education Centre at Vatnagarðar 20 in Reykjavík. You can register here.

The Education and Training Service Centre and IÐAN Education Centre have managed the project in Iceland on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
