Over 70 people attended a meeting held by IÐAN Education Centre and the Federation of Icelandic Industries on Wednesday, 27 February, as part of the meeting series "Quality Management in the Construction Industry". The meeting focused on the Icelandic Construction Authority's new building portal, its purpose, and the experience of using it.
The agenda was threefold. Jón Guðmundsson from the Icelandic Construction Authority discussed the purpose and implementation of the building portal. Sveinn Björnsson, Building Inspector in Reykjanesbær, informed guests about the use and experience of its implementation in Reykjanesbær. The last speaker on the agenda was Grétar I. Guðlaugsson, Project and Construction Manager at ÍAV, who shared his experience of using the building portal in his work.
The presentations raised numerous questions and sparked lively discussions among a diverse group of guests, which included master craftsmen, contractors, designers, quality managers, and technicians. It is clear that there is great interest in this topic, as well as in quality management in the construction industry in general.
This meeting was the third in the series by IÐAN and the Federation of Icelandic Industries on quality management in the construction industry. The next meeting in the series is planned in a month, on 27 March.
