Iðan participated in the Industrial Exhibition 2025, which took place in Laugardalshöll from 9 to 11 October. This year, there was a special emphasis on presenting construction, energy, infrastructure, environmentally friendly solutions, and design.

The exhibition was attended by nearly 40,000 visitors, both industry professionals and enthusiasts. The number of visitors clearly reflects how important Icelandic industry is to Icelandic society, as industrial sectors generate about 40% of the nation's export revenue.

People were curious about the progress in the 3D printer.

Iðan's staff met with numerous professionals and informed them about the value of continuing education and Iðan's important services, such as validation of prior learning and counselling. It is very important for us to have a good dialogue with our members, and many good ideas for courses were put forward that will be taken into consideration.

Of course, there were some fun and games, and guests got to try their hand at a quiz. A 3D printer was on site, printing an object related to industry. Guests came up with many amusing guesses — the most original being “a fried egg!” The correct answer was a safety helmet, and the name of Helgi Þór, a plumber at Aðallagnir, was drawn from the pot.

His prize is a spot in the course 3D Printing in Industry and a Bambu Lab A1 Combo 3D printer. The course covers the entire process of 3D printing in industry.
Helgi Þór was over the moon with his prize and said he was looking forward to attending the course, which has been very popular among Iðan's members.
