Finnbjörn Hermannsson is no newcomer when it comes to the affairs of trade unions.
He has worked in that sector since 1997, but before that he was a teacher at the Workers' Educational Association. "I was teaching future union leaders and shop stewards all over the country," says Finnbjörn.
Throughout the years, the trade union movement has fought for better living standards for the general public in the country. These issues are then put on track and become law, benefiting everyone. It must not be forgotten that in the beginning, these things were not at all a given, says Finnbjörn. These include, for example, pension rights, holiday pay, sickness funds, and working conditions. Now, rental housing is the main cause of the trade union movement to help those who have the most difficulty entering the housing market, he says.
The role of trade unions is very diverse, but they strive to serve their members as best as possible.
