IÐAN issues digital credentials for studies
Secure and reliable recognition of studies in partnership with Diplomasafe.
IÐAN Education Centre is collaborating with the Danish company Diplomasafe on issuing digital credentials for studies.
Diplomasafe is a powerful service and software company that has achieved great success in developing secure, digital solutions. The founders of Diplomasafe, for example, were involved in the development of digital IDs in Denmark and are working with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) on the implementation of digital credentials. The company is active in the development of digital credentials in Europe for different educational levels and continuing education institutions.
“Digital credentials create opportunities to make skills and knowledge visible in the digital world. They are secure, reliable, and certified by a third party,” says Helen Gray, Development Manager at IÐAN, describing the technology behind it. “A digital credential contains metadata that is communicated via blockchain, which makes it impossible to forge. This is incredibly important,” says Helen, citing the assessment of foreign studies as an example. “That whole process is a clear example of how a digital credential for studies can save time and increase security. Both for the applicant and the person assessing the documents. This method will also make all credentials, certificates, and certifications that an individual acquires accessible in one place, with the option to share them digitally in a secure manner. Universities around the world are beginning to explore the possibilities inherent in this new form of education at all levels, and not least in the field of continuing education.”
“You can even share digital credentials with the whole world on social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn in a reliable way,” says Helen, adding that the development is exciting. “Digital credentials will transform the form of education in the future.”
