IÐAN presents the VISKA project at the University of Iceland's Menntakvika
Helen Gray, Development Manager, and Rakel Steinvör, Study and Career Counsellor, were invited to give a presentation on the VISKA project (Visible Skills of Adults) at the University of Iceland's Education Conference.
The VISKA project is about, on the one hand, opening the current system for the validation of prior learning to immigrants and, on the other hand, testing a pan-European online assessment tool for immigrants.
The participants in the project were Poles working in the Icelandic labour market. A total of 45 individuals, both men and women, participated and were assessed against the curricula of certified trades and job competency standards.
The VISKA project revealed various challenges but also opportunities related to the validation of prior learning for immigrants.
