Iðan no longer accepts applications for the recognition of tradesmen's education
As of 1 February, the ENIC/NARIC office will take over the processing of applications for the recognition of education and work experience of foreign tradespeople.
Henceforth, applicants must direct applications for the assessment and recognition of foreign education to the ENIC/NARIC office via the website EnicNaric.is. ENIC/NARIC staff will ensure that all required documents are included and then send the application for review to either IÐAN Education Centre or Rafmennt, depending on the profession in question.
Once the expert's review is available, the ENIC/NARIC office will process the application and, where applicable, guide applicants on the next steps, e.g., if the outcome leads to the issuance of a special license granting the right to work in a certified trade in Iceland.
Those who benefit from the service are both citizens from EEA countries and nationals of countries outside the EEA.
