Iðan Receives Erasmus+ Development Grant
Iðan Education Centre has received a grant to develop the European quality label EQAMOB (European Quality Assurance in Mobility).
The grant, which amounts to ISK 36 million, will be used to update the quality criteria that model companies must meet to participate in student and staff exchanges within the Erasmus+ programme.
Model companies are those that currently meet the EQAMOB quality criteria but go significantly further than other companies in their emphasis on strengthening the learning and work of apprentices and newly qualified journeymen, for example, in matters relating to sustainability and inclusion.
Examples of Icelandic model companies include Askja, Harpa Concert Hall Catering Service, and AH Pípulagnir.
The development work of the international team at Iðan Education Centre will focus on developing micro-credentials on how companies can better support apprentices, newly qualified journeymen, and professionals.
The micro-credentials will be based on the European Union's criteria (A European Approach to micro-credentials). The project begins on 1 November and will run for three years. It is a European collaborative project involving four countries: France, Austria, Finland, and Iceland, with Iðan Education Centre leading the project. For more information: [email protected]
