LEAN for Workshops
IÐAN Education Centre is offering a course in the LEAN methodology for automotive workshops on 11 November.
Lean Management has its roots in the automotive industry, more specifically in the Toyota management system. Toyota invented new methods to improve production and management where customer value was always the guiding principle. For about 40 years, companies all over the world have adopted Toyota's methods to increase productivity, flexibility, and production flow, and to improve customer service. The result of this work is always a significant reduction in costs.
Course description
The course will cover the basics of the LEAN philosophy along with the main methods that companies use to improve their operations. Examples will be taken from workshops as well as other workplaces that have successfully utilized LEAN methods. The course is 2 days (3 hours at a time):
The goal of the course is for participants to gain a basic knowledge of LEAN and to be able to envision how LEAN can be used to make improvements in the workplace.
