Kjartan Hreinsson, graphic designer, talks about the book about Óli K. the photojournalist
Not everyone realizes what a personal process book design and layout is. Kjartan Hreinsson, a graphic designer and photographer, describes his work on the book Óli K as an amazing journey.
A journey that began in a symbolic way at an air show in Reykjavík, where Kjartan ran into the book's author, historian Anna Dröfn Ágústsdóttir.
The pioneer and photojournalist Óli K was, in fact, a die-hard aviation enthusiast, and Kjartan was even wearing a vintage pilot's leather jacket when he and Anna discussed her idea of making a book about him. The book is now out, featuring one hundred and fifty-five of Óli K's photographs that capture Icelandic history and daily life in a powerful way.
