On Friday, 16 May, Iðan hosted an enjoyable educational event titled Metal Welding Day.
Some of you may remember Welding Day, which was an annual event and a collaborative project between Iðan and the Icelandic Welding Society. The day has a long and good history, and we at Iðan felt it was time to revive it.
Welding Day is an event suitable for professionals who work with welding, in steel workshops, and machine shops. It is also suitable for anyone else with an unwavering interest in the profession and related technology.
Welding Day took place on the premises of Iðan Education Centre at Vatnagarðar 20 and was held in collaboration with Veldix. The event featured educational talks, presentations of equipment related to welding, and the formula off-road vehicle Kúrekinn was on display. Snjólaug Lúðvíksdóttir also joined us with a short stand-up comedy set.
The goal of Welding Day is to introduce the latest developments in welding technology and to strengthen connections and knowledge among those working in this field. It's safe to say that this was achieved with great success last Friday.
