Now you'll pass the journeyman's exam!
A validation of prior learning is intended to assess the skills and knowledge you have acquired at work and may help you complete your vocational training.
Assessment of prior learning is a way to evaluate the skills and knowledge that can be acquired in the labour market. The assessment can potentially shorten studies and serve as an incentive to complete them. The conditions for participating in an assessment of prior learning are being 23 years of age and having 3 years of confirmed work experience in the relevant field. This method has yielded good results, as many participants in the assessment of prior learning have continued their studies and completed a journeyman's examination after the assessment.
It is planned that an assessment of prior learning will take place in the following trades and professions in spring 2018:
- carpentry and masonry
- auto mechanics, auto body repair and auto painting
- culinary arts and food technology
- net making
- horticulture
Admission requirements for assessment of prior learning:
23 years of age and 3 years of experience in the relevant field, based on full-time employment (confirmed with official documents, e.g., pension fund statements)
