240 new journeymen graduated with a journeyman's certificate in thirteen trades at a graduation ceremony at Hotel Nordica.
A splendid group of new journeymen received their certificates at a formal ceremony at Hótel Nordica yesterday. The graduating class was exceptionally large this time, with new journeymen graduating from the following thirteen trades:
The journeymen received a gift certificate for a course from IÐAN and other gifts from their trade unions and master craftsmen's associations. An award was also given for the highest grade on the journeyman's examination. The largest group of new journeymen was in carpentry, who completed their journeyman's examination this spring. In total, 145 people completed their journeyman's examination nationwide, and 89 received their certificates yesterday.

Next up is the presentation of journeyman's certificates in Akureyri in October, where new journeymen in waiting, construction, and metal trades will receive their certificates. There will also be a graduation ceremony for new journeymen in Reykjavík in November.
