Treble is a company that offers solutions to improve acoustics in buildings and a better experience for those who use hearing aids and conference speakers. IÐAN visited the site and got to try it out.
Finnur Pind, CEO and one of the founders of the company Treble, has been working hard to improve acoustics. There is much to be gained, as high levels of environmental noise can have harmful long-term effects on people. It is known that environmental noise negatively affects the lives of millions of Europeans every year. For example, people who live near motorways are more likely to develop Alzheimer's or similar diseases. The City of Reykjavík recently published a report that examined conditions in the city's schools, and the acoustics were found to be particularly lacking.
With Treble, you can experience acoustics through virtual reality and intervene at the construction stage. The software provides suggestions on how to improve sound insulation and reverberation time in a space, which can be experienced in real-time with virtual reality and headphones, as if you were on-site, even in a building that has not yet been built. The solution can also be used in existing buildings to improve acoustics.
The future of Treble seems bright, and they are also collaborating with major manufacturers of conference speakers and hearing aids. "We are seeing a lot of interest in what we are doing; companies seem to have a use for these solutions, so it's a lot of fun these days, we have a bit of a tailwind," says Finnur Pind.
