New course in quality system auditing
To obtain a building permit, it is no longer enough to have a registered quality system; it must be active.
The Housing and Construction Authority is currently undertaking a special audit of quality management systems in Iceland. Professionals are obligated to have a quality management system registered with the Housing and Construction Authority, and at the end of last year, the law was amended. Now, it is not only required to have a registered quality management system, but it must also be demonstrably active. Silvá Kjærnested, a structural engineer at HMS, discusses the audit here. On March 9th, IÐAN Education Centre will hold a course for professionals where they will receive guidance and advice on how to proceed.
