Assessment of prior learning, car repairs and motorsport
Valdimar Jón Sveinsson tells us about IÐAN's validation of prior learning and his interest in motorsports in this first Tuesday episode of the IÐAN Education Centre's podcast.
Valdimar is a great enthusiast of all kinds of extreme sports, especially motorsports. He has worked for 20 years in car painting, auto body repair, and general repairs, in addition to competing in rally, formula off-road, and drifting.
Valdimar is a car painter but decided to seek further education and therefore underwent an assessment of prior learning in auto body repair and auto mechanics at IÐAN Education Centre. He recommends that anyone who is interested and meets the requirements for an assessment of prior learning should take advantage of it to complete their studies. It's not difficult, says Valdimar, but you have to prove that you know what you claim to know. An assessment of prior learning is a way for us who have already been working in the field and don't have all the time in the world to be in school to complete our studies, says Valdimar.
