Silvia and Tristan brought home the gold
Tristan and Silvia won gold for their magnificent performance in the Nordic Student Competition.

Icelanders came, saw, and conquered at the Nordic student competition in Denmark. The theme of this year's competition was sustainability.

Silvia Louise Einarsdóttir and Tristan Tómasson won gold medals in the Nordic Student Competition for waiting. The competition took place at the vocational school College 360 in Silkeborg, Denmark on 24 and 25 April.
The Icelandic team consisted of two competitors in waiting, Silvia and Tristan, and two competitors in cooking, Sindri Hrafn Rúnarsson and Marlís Jóna Þórunnar Karlsdóttir. The theme of the competition was sustainability.

Silvia and Tristan competed in the main skills of the waiting profession, such as service, preparation, setting and decorating a table for six, blind wine tasting, mixing cocktails, pairing wine/drinks with menus, carving, flambéing, and serving. Tristan Tómasson is a student in the waiter program at the Hotel and Food School in Kópavogur. He has an apprenticeship contract as a waiter at Icelandic Food Cellar and has worked as a waiter for four years.

Silvia er 20 ára gömul og mun útskrifast í maí úr námi í hótel- og veitingagreinum við Hótel- og matvælaskólann í Kópavogi. Hún er á námssamningi hjá Moss, Michelin-stjörnuveitingastaðnum við Bláa lónið.

Silvia Louise Einarsdóttir is 20 years old and will graduate in May from the Hotel and Restaurant program at the Hotel and Food School in Kópavogur. She is an apprentice at Moss, the Michelin-starred restaurant at the Blue Lagoon.
Silvia and Tómas's coach was Finnur Gauti Vilhelmsson.

Gold – Iceland
Silver – Denmark
Bronze – Norway

Cooking:
Gold – Norway
Silver – Denmark
Bronze – Sweden

The Icelandic culinary and service team is in high spirits, and they have every reason to be proud of their performance.
