“In the beginning, no one knew how we were supposed to do this,” says Þröstur, “but we knew the goal. We wanted to be able to bring the service closer to the city's residents by offering increased self-service.” The pilot projects went well and received positive feedback. “That was very encouraging,” he says.
“Digital transformation isn't just about computers, technology, and programming,” says Þröstur. “It's not as scary as you might think, because it's really about communication and people. The company's digital leader is the one who brings everything together. They don't need to reinvent the wheel at all but serve as a unifying symbol.”
