Digital Solutions in Planning and Construction Matters
Guðmundur K. Jónsson is a carpenter and urban planner. He felt there was a need for a unified portal to monitor and obtain information about construction projects in the building industry.
After completing his studies, Guðmundur worked for the City of Reykjavík, where he says he gained valuable experience. With that experience under his belt, he and Jökull Sólberg founded the company Planitor.
The impetus for founding the company was that Guðmundur felt there was a lack of a real overview of how much housing is being built, what kind of housing is being built, and where.
"We are a software company," says Guðmundur, "that aims to digitally capture what is happening in construction in Iceland." All cases are stored in minutes of meetings, so the partners are working to standardise their content to make it accessible. This makes processes more efficient and provides a better overview.
A very informative chat that we encourage those in the building and construction industries not to miss.
