On Friday, 19 May, twelve students from Ölduselsskóli had the opportunity to get to know the learning environment of the baking department at Kópavogur College. This is a pilot project organised by the IÐAN Education Centre, which aims to give students from elective courses in primary schools the chance to experience first-hand the studies and jobs in vocational trades.
There was certainly a lot of interest that day, as the students chose baking over a day off from school and beautiful, sunny weather. They worked hard for the entire duration of the career presentation, and the results were not bad at all: sunny smiles, experience, and bags full of freshly baked bread and cakes.
Ásgeir the teacher and the group of students worked together as one baker, and there was magic in the air, magic that gradually turned into delicious pastries. Thank you, Ásgeir and MK, thank you, IÐAN, and thank you, kids, for a fantastic day!
