Mushroom season is about to begin, and to mark the occasion, IÐAN Education Centre is offering a particularly interesting course for anyone interested in learning more about the mushrooms that grow here in Iceland and are suitable for cooking.
The course will be held on Saturday, 25 August, and is divided into two parts:
The first part consists of a lecture and a demonstration on identifying and preparing mushrooms, while the second part involves a trip to a wooded area for practical instruction. Participants will receive assistance and guidance in foraging for edible mushrooms. They will identify and clean the mushrooms. The main methods for preserving mushrooms and their potential uses will also be discussed.
