How to create your own maps in Google Maps

How to create your own maps in Google Maps

Now is the right time to plan your summer holiday here in Iceland, the hiking trip or the camping trip.

Now is the right time to plan your summer holiday here in Iceland, your hiking trip, or your camping adventure. Of course, everyone has their own way of doing things, but the Google Maps service is a brilliant solution you should check out. You can use Google's map database to customize your own maps or travel information. This allows you to collect interesting places you'd like to visit or even map out your entire journey. Custom maps can then be shared with other travel companions or the whole world. The maps can also be embedded into websites; for example, a hiking group can display a custom map on their blog, and it's an added bonus that they work just as well on your phone as on your desktop computer.

Access to the Google Maps database is free, and the only thing you need to do is create a Google account, if you don't already have one. The account not only provides access to Google's map service but also to other solutions free of charge, such as Gmail. You can read more about the map solution here.
