Eco-friendly book printing, paperbacks rather than hardcovers

Eco-friendly book printing, paperbacks rather than hardcovers

“Kiljan is certified all the way,” says Konráð Ingi Jónsson, CEO and main owner of Litróf, about environmentally friendly book printing and the competitiveness of the printing industry against foreign production.

Konráð Ingi believes that the book industry should agree on more environmentally friendly priorities, print more paperbacks than hardcovers, and of course, lighten the carbon footprint by printing more books domestically. The Icelandic printing industry is more competitive against the foreign market when it comes to paperbacks than hardcovers, and in that fact lies a glimmer of hope.

Konráð Ingi discusses the merger of Litrós with Guðjón Ó. and Prenttækni, his own career, and his vision for the future of the Icelandic printing industry.
