On 1 August last, a new regulation on workplace learning came into effect.
The main change is that from 1 August 2021, upper secondary schools will manage the creation and confirmation of apprentices' training contracts. The new regulation also stipulates that the use of electronic logbooks shall be implemented in all trades.
We encourage master craftsmen and companies that took on apprentices for workplace training before 1 August but have not finalised a training contract with the student to send us an application at the earliest opportunity. See more details on the application form on the IÐAN website.
Apprentices who choose to follow the new regulation and thereby register their workplace training in an electronic logbook should contact their upper secondary school, which will then assist them in creating a training contract.
