In short, LinkedIn is a business-oriented social media platform for professionals, and it's no small operation. At the time of writing, LinkedIn has over 690 million users worldwide and features over 50 million companies. In terms of size, LinkedIn can't hold a candle to Facebook or Instagram, but it is a much more specialized community, which is why both companies and individuals see the benefit of being there.
It doesn't matter whether you work as a salesperson in a small shop or as the CEO of a large corporation; LinkedIn is the platform where you connect with others in the professional world, share your own experience, and discover opportunities to advance your career. And if you happen to be thinking about changing your career path, LinkedIn is the first stop in the search for a new employer. At least, that's the case in many places abroad, and the reality is that here in Iceland, more and more people are discovering and utilizing this platform.
