VISKA - a new European project on increasing the visibility of immigrants' job skills
IÐAN Education Centre and the Education and Training Service Centre received a grant last March from the European Union's Erasmus+ fund for the project Visible Skills of Adults (VISKA).
The total funding for the project is 1.8 million Euros, which is distributed among the four participating countries: Iceland, Belgium, Ireland, and Norway – with Skills Norway leading the project. VISKA is an Erasmus KA3 policy reform project managed in Iceland by the Education and Training Service Centre and IÐAN Education Centre on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture.
VISKA is an experimental and research project that focuses on the European Union's policy priority of strengthening the employability of immigrants by assessing their skills, thereby increasing their opportunities to find suitable jobs and promoting social integration. The aim is to develop and strengthen networks of stakeholders and to develop tools that make immigrants' skills more visible. The project runs for three years and will conclude in early 2020. The results will inform policy-making in these areas in the participating countries following the VISKA project.
