Validation - introductory meeting
An introductory meeting about validation will be held on Thursday, 1 November at 6 p.m. at the headquarters of IÐUNN, a continuing education centre, at Vatnagarðar 20, 104 Reykjavik.
The validation aims to assess experience in a given profession. The duration of study and subjects taught at a vocational school or other vocational training will also be taken into account in the assessment.
The validation will cover two professions: carpenter and painter.
Conditions for participating in the validation:
- Be at least 23 years old and have 3 years of professional experience in the industry, including at least 6 months in the Icelandic labour market. Professional experience must be confirmed with official documents.

Validation of prior learning for Polish immigrants
An informational meeting about the validation of prior learning for Polish immigrants working in carpentry or painting will be held on Thursday, 1 November at 6 p.m. at the IÐAN education centre, Vatnagarðar 20, 104 Reykjavík. An interpreter will be present at the meeting. The validation of prior learning is intended to assess the skills and knowledge you have acquired at work and is assessed against the curriculum in the trade.
The trades to be assessed are carpentry and painting.
The admission requirements for the validation of prior learning are:
- Be 23 years of age and have 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade, including 6 months of work experience in the trade in Iceland. Work experience must be confirmed with official documents.
