YouTube – The World's Largest Educational Platform
YouTube is not only the second-largest search engine in the world but also a vibrant online community, brimming with truly high-quality and useful educational material on everything under the sun. On the other hand, YouTube is equally a platform for less-than-exciting videos, to put it mildly, and it is therefore necessary to apply a certain quality assessment when searching for educational content there.
Kristján Kristjánsson, Head of the Metals and Mechanical Engineering Division at IÐA, recently embarked on an expedition through the vast lands of YouTube in search of useful material to use in teaching or for self-study in the trades he oversees.
