Iðan strengthens ties with companies and people in industry in West Iceland
Leaders from Iðan visited West Iceland where they presented their activities and discussed continuing education and the needs of the local business community.
At the beginning of the week, leaders from Iðan went on a trip around West Iceland, where they presented the educational centre's activities and spoke with companies and individuals in the region. The trip included stops in Akranes, Borgarnes, Stykkishólmur, and Grundarfjörður.
The economy in West Iceland is largely characterised by smaller businesses and diverse jobs, and the visits gave the leaders good insight into the situation and needs of the region. Conversations clearly revealed a strong interest in continuing education and that people in the area are aware of the importance of maintaining and enhancing their knowledge in an ever-changing work environment.
The leaders presented the courses and opportunities available at Iðan and discussed how best to meet the needs of the business community with targeted education and support.
The trip was part of Iðan's ongoing work to strengthen ties with businesses throughout the country and to promote increased participation in continuing education.
