Lean Management
IÐAN Education Centre is offering three courses in Lean management this winter.
Lean Management has its roots in the car industry, not least in Toyota's management system. One of the main objectives of Lean Management is to identify and eliminate waste in any form within companies or institutions. It doesn't matter whether it's a manufacturing or a service company.
For about 40 years, companies all over the world have been adopting Toyota's methods to increase productivity, flexibility, and production flow, and to improve customer service.
IÐAN Education Centre is offering three courses in Lean Management this winter:
- Lean for Workshops - 8 October
The basics of Lean will be covered, along with the main methods that companies use to improve their operations. Examples will be taken from workshops as well as other companies that have successfully used Lean methods. The course is 2 days (3 hours at a time).

- Lean Management - 11 October
We will discuss in plain language what improvement work is and whether it's true that companies can achieve as much success with these methods as evidence suggests. Several examples of how companies in Iceland are using improvement work will be included. On the first day of the course, we will work with the ideology and put it into the context of the participants' immediate environment. On the second day of the course, we will delve into the methodology and examine it through the eyes of the participants with a view to its use in their own environment.
