Certification Course for Structural Designers

A course for structural designers seeking certification from the Housing and Construction Authority to create general and special drawings, cf. the provisions of Articles 25 and 26 of the Act on Structures No. 160/2010, will be held in November 2025. The course will be held online on the web management system of Iðan Education Centre.

The lectures will be available from Tuesday, 11 November at 9:00 and will remain open until 28 November. The course concludes with an exam on Friday, 28 November from 9:00 – 13:00.

The course fee is ISK 118,900.

Applications for the course are submitted on the website of the Housing and Construction Authority, hms.is, using electronic ID on My Pages/Building Safety under "Application for Designer Certification Course".

The application must be accompanied by:

A copy of the applicant's diploma
Confirmation from the ministry of the right to use the professional title
Certificate(s) of 3 years' work experience, cf. paragraph 1 of Article 26 of the Act on Construction

Applications must be received no later than Monday, 28 October 2025.
