Svanur Jóhannesson is the son of Jóhannes úr Kötlum. He is just over ninety years old and recently published Prentsmiðjubókin (The Print Shop Book), in which he discusses the history of printing in Iceland in words and pictures.
The book is a great asset for anyone interested in the history of Icelandic printing and the publication of newspapers and magazines. Svanur says he is by no means finished and has received good help, including from his son.
He has already started on the next book, which will specifically cover the printing history of the Westman Islands.
IÐAN congratulates this great scholar on a magnificent work.
