Thank you for attending the Day of Print and Design
Professionals in the printing and advertising industry turned out in large numbers for Touchpoints: The Day of Print and Design, which was held with great success on Wednesday, May 13th, at the premises of Iðan Education Centre at Vatnagarðar 20 in Reykjavík.
The spotlight was on the strengths of print in a digital world and why print continues to matter as an effective and tangible point of contact with people.
The program began in the afternoon with opening remarks from Vilborg Helga Harðardóttir, Managing Director of Iðunn, and Kristjóna Björg Guðbrandsdóttir, Web Manager and leader of the print and media disciplines. This was followed by a variety of lectures and workshops covering sustainability, digital printing, changing regulations, innovation, the preservation of print culture, and developments in design and brand standards.
Among those who gave presentations were Gundula Ullah from Funke Media in Germany, Moritz Feil from the Fogra Institute, Sigurjón Ólafsson from Funksjón, Reynir Traustason from Góður punktur, design director Sigurður Oddsson and type designer Hólmfríður Benediktsdóttir from Aton, Málfríður Finnbogadóttir from the Icelandic Print Museum, and others.
Following the educational program, Ari Eldjárn took the stage with a stand-up routine that was a hit with the guests. The evening then concluded with light refreshments, music, and lively conversation.
